Responsibilities

Enhabit Hospice Nursing Aides assist with various personal care issues including changing bedding, changing clothing, bathing hospice patients and helping with hygienic routines such as brushing teeth, washing hair and keeping wound dressings clean and dry. Our Hospice Nursing Aides may assist patients' family members in caring for their terminally ill relatives by instructing them on how to go about performing basic health-care routines. Nursing Aides consult on a regular basis with their supervising registered nurses in terms of keeping hospice team members apprised of our patients' progression and the families' needs.

Qualifications

  • Must meet one of the following requirements. 1) have a minimum of one year full time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility); 2) have one year experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home health or hospice setting.
  • Must be registered and listed in good standing on the nurse aide registry in the state of employment.
  • Must have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.

  • May demonstrate an active willingness to learn the required skills in lieu of existing technology skills.

ARKANSAS - May be a nursing student who has demonstrated competency in proving basic nursing skills with submitted documentation from the director or dean of the school of nursing, in lieu of being a CNA.

CONNECTICUT - Must hold a certificate as a certified nurses assistant
DELAWARE - Must have completed one year in a department approved facility setting; or completed 75 hours of instruction training with practicum and supervision; or be student nurse and completed clinical practicum.

IDAHO - Must hold a certificate as a certified nurses assistant

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid state driver license
  • Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law
  • Must maintain dependable transportation in good working condition
  • Must be able to safely drive an automobile in all types of weather conditions
  • Must complete training, competency evaluation in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Must possess CPR certification
